Hi, Rob.

I will probably use some sort of D amp in the next app I make. What is your source for the amps?

It is not possible to wire 4 drivers that are 8 ohms to end up with 4 ohms. You can get 2 or 8 ohms.

The amp unit from Parts Express is bi-amped and has a built-in electronic crossover at 3500Hz.

Hi, Great looking amp. I was thinking of doing the same thing with a Class D Audio amp. The amp has two channels at 125 watts/8 ohms or it can be bridged to one channel at 500 watts/4 ohms. How would I hook up four speakers the way you did to achieve 4 ohms? All four are 8 ohms. I am assuming you used a crossover and what type? Thanks from No.744 Chapman Stick

Hello, BB.

The sound of a Stick doesn't really vary with wood, bamboo, or even graphite. The pickups make much more difference than the material. Bamboo is as stiff as the really hard woods, but it much lighter. That's why I got it for a grand. I have also ordered an SG12 in rosewood and because it's much smaller I'm not concerned about the weight.

I wouldn't hesitate to get a used bamboo! They are actually quite popular and there aren't many used ones on the market. That also means that a used bamboo would be very new as it has only been available for a few years.

Take care,

-Eric

Nice Grand!

Just wondering how do you like the bamboo, how does it sound?? I have an oppurtunity to get a used one, but bamboo is not really my first choice, but beggars cannot be choosers as they say.

Shoto me an email.

Cheers!

Hi Eric - I finally got to see this - a very nice approach. Too bad about the miss-wiring of the speakers for the seminar. The players would surely have enjoyed and commented on the amp. You still were a hit there with your Mozart. So when do we see the next one?
